How Solarspot® works
Solarspot® tubular skylights are highly reflective conduits that channel natural light into enclosed indoor spaces—even over long distances and along complex, winding paths.
They rely on cutting-edge technology that allows for the utilization of natural light (both direct and diffuse), even in settings that lack direct exposure or under external lighting conditions that might otherwise seem insufficient.
The operating principle behind Solarspot® is the reflection of the visible spectrum of light. At the core of these products lies the patented RIR® technology, which utilizes a material capable of both reflecting and refracting light. This, combined with the exceptionally high specular reflectivity of the VEGALUX2™ material used for the rigid tubular conduits, enables light to be transported over great distances from the collection point—navigating paths of varying lengths and complexities tailored to the specific requirements of the building.
A key feature of Solarspot® is its high luminous efficiency, even under overcast skies characterized by diffuse light—where there is no direct sunlight. This ensures the system remains highly effective, allowing it to perform well even in situations where the light-collection point does not have an ideal orientation.

The structure

Captor
Natural light collection point. It can be positioned on the roof (the ideal location), but also on a wall or at garden level.
The collector consists of three essential parts:
DOME: Made using a specific acrylic formula that retains its transparency and high mechanical strength over time. The function of the dome is to capture the maximum amount of natural light, while filtering out the sun’s UV and IR rays.
CONVAS®: Transparent polycarbonate tray designed to prevent the formation of condensation, absorb UV rays, and reduce heat loss.
RIR®: An interactive optical system that collects light under all sky conditions and directs it into the duct. This patented technology is crafted from a material capable of manipulating light through both reflection and refraction, allowing it to capture direct sunlight from the south as well as diffuse light from the north.
Flashing
A connecting component required for the installation of Solarspot® tubular skylights on a roof.
Depending on the type of existing roof, different styles of flashing are available: for tiled roofs, these may be flat or sloped and are made of plastic, designed to be installed in combination with the PROTEO® universal flashing base; for roofs featuring corrugated metal sheets or wavy panels, the flashing may be flat—either round or square—and is intended for installation on a custom-fitted support.

Reflective ducts
They are manufactured in our workshop from aluminum alloy coils, which undergo a special treatment that renders their inner surface highly reflective (Vegalux2).
The ducts can be perfectly straight or feature complex configurations, including bends of up to 90°; they can be routed horizontally or vertically to navigate around obstacles within a building or to better adapt to the available space.
Diffuser
This is the terminal component of the Solarspot® system, designed to diffuse light evenly throughout a room. It can be installed on a ceiling, a wall, or in the corner of a room.
It serves as an effective thermal barrier and provides an additional filter against any remaining UV and IR rays present in the natural light after it has passed through the light tube.
Our product range offers various finishes, including square options, round versions with a decorative ring, or—for a more minimalist look—round, "lantern-style" fixtures.
