On pitched roofing, whatever the covering typology, there are several solutions to be used. USE OF THE FLAT FLASHING: If under the covering there is a bituminous sheath, the flat aluminium flashing can be hot-sealed without problems; differently it is possible to use a PROTEO® adapter, which fits to any existing covering. Using the PROTEO® it is also possible to use a Flat Polypropylene Flashing (SAPO). If the room to be lit is directly under the covering mantle, as in Picture no. 1, it can be used just a Base Kit with suitable length to cover the thickness of the attic and of the flashing. If the room to be lit is distant from the roofing, a 0-30° or 0-45° variable angle adapter has always to be foreseen to enable the tube to be placed in a vertical position, as in Picture no. 2 and 3.
Further solutions can be used on a pitched covering. In Picture no. 4 a chimney has been built to allow the exit from the pitch roof and increase the capturing power of the Solarspot® system. In this case it is used a round or square flashing having edges. The chimney can be made of masonry or prefabricated elements, such as the so called “Shunt”. In Picture no. 5, on the contrary, it is possible to use the pitched polypropylene flashing because the roof has a slope between 20° and 25°. In this case the universal adapter PROTEO® is necessary.
